Udin boršt Commemorative park ordinance

Due to the crucial importance of revolutionary labour movement in NOB (national liberation struggle,) the assembly of Kranj and Tržič Municipalities accepted the initiative of Association of Veterans NOV to commemorate the area of Udin boršt and its brinks in order to organise and protect the area and stay a permanent reminder of war horrors and numerous heroisms and tragic stories of soldiers. The Udin boršt commemorative park has been protected since 1985 as a historical and cultural monument with the municipal ordinance by the former Kranj Municipality (Official Gazette of Gorenjska region, no. 20/85)

Overlooking the political connotation of the first initiative, the area of 1725 ha has the status of a landscape park which is entirely legitimate because it is full of natural and cultural heritages. A special protection arrangement applies to the park as a whole which maintains forest and cultural landscape and enables the land owners to manage their forest and agricultural cultivated areas. Apart from other limitations, it is prohibited to bring in non-autochthonous plants and animals, build summer cottages or other communal construction, put up fences or making noise above 45 dB.
