Providers of domestic crops and products

The Poličar Farm
The Poličar Farm from Polica near Kranj has been famous for years for a wide selection of excellent dairy products from their own milk, considering its long tradition of farming and milk production. Among these, semi-hard cheeses, cottage cheese, cheese spreads, milk, fresh cheese, cheese for grilling, kajmak cheese, fruit yogurt, whey and fruit drink are the most important.

Among their specialties, there are cheese products, such as cottage cheese, cottage cheese with herbs and cheese in olive oil, as well as soft cow's cheese in a bun and soft cow's cheese in a roll. Here are also a milk roll with pumpkin seed oil, cooked cheese, soft cheese with pepper, smoked cheese and more. They have received many awards in the evaluation of dairy products or cheeses, and Andreja Jagodic received the title of the Slovenian innovative farmer of the year in 2008.

There are also other agricultural products, such as eggs, potatoes, beetroot and cabbage available for the customers.

It is possible to buy these products at the farm in their own store. It is open every day from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. (in winter) or from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. (in summer), it is closed on Tuesdays, Sundays and holidays.

At the farm, a unique little millstone museum is arranged and always open to visitors. It reminds us of the long tradition of millstone manufacture in this area. The stone came from a quarry on the southern edge of Udin boršt, which had worked for 350 years. The Puhar family gained material in it, as well. They had been manufacturing high-quality millstones for mills for miles around until 1975.

The Matijovc Farm

In Podbrezje at the Matijovc Farm, the sixth generation of the Jeglič family is managing it now. The farm was growing and strengthening economically from generation to generation. Now, they are cultivating 17 acres of owned and rented land (fields, orchards, meadows), and they have shifted the entire farm into integrated farming in recent years. As early as in 1991, they started with the integrated fruit production and continued with integrated vegetable processing and integrated farming.
They grow mainly apples and pears, and also plums and prunes for processing. The majority of apples and pears are sold as table fruit, and a part is processed into sweet cider, apple vinegar, and cooked in pear brandy and various other spirits. Also, some apples, pears and plums are dried.

All products can be purchased at the Matijovc Farm also from winter to early summer or until stocks last. For organised groups, they also offer a tour of the farm with the tasting of local produce and products.

The Jerala Farm

The Jerala Farm in a renowned fruit-growing village of Podbrezje has been for many years engaged in the production of agricultural products. They are enriching the traditional knowledge that is passed on from generation to generation, with the achievements and experiences of our time. They offer different varieties of apples, pears, potatoes and cabbage. The cabbage includes buckwheat mush from domestic buckwheat flour produced from pure Upper Carniolan buckwheat.
What they are producing, they know how to process in a high-quality manner either in apple juice or apple vinegar, in dry apple and pear fruit pieces, and in four types of liqueurs or spirits such as brandy, perry and pear brandy.
For many years, the products from the Jerala Farm received the highest awards on the evaluations of food products, for example on the exhibition of the Delicacies of Slovenian Farms.
Fans of local delicacies can purchase all these on the farm or in their store. For organised groups, they also offer a tour of the farm with the tasting of local produce and products.
