Slovenia Forest Service, DU Kranj
The mission of the Slovenian Forest Service is the conservation and sustainable development of Slovenian forests and all of their features for their sustainable and high-quality management and use, as well as nature conservation in forests for the benefit of the present and future generations.
The main tasks and activities of the Service in this respect are:
The Slovenian Forest Service is organised in the central unit in Ljubljana and 14 regional units. Regional units are divided into local units, and these into forest districts.
The Udin boršt area falls within the Regional Unit Kranj, which covers about 107,000 ha of area, of which over 72,000 ha are covered by forests, i.e., the forest coverage being over 67%.
The Regional Unit is divided into 5 local units with 29 districts. Udin boršt is included in two local units, LU Tržič and LU Kranj.
